With a BCom degree complimenting his BEng Mining degree his practical mining experience in both underground and open pit mining serves him well during the optimization and operational management of complex mining systems. Pierre has extensive experience in mining in Africa and projects that he's worked on includes the Kolwezi Tailings Project in the DRC and Anglo Platinum's PPRUST open pit operations in South Africa. Doug TurnbullDoug is a consulting geologist with over 20 years experience in diamond, precious and base metal exploration. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and is a Qualified Professional Geoscientist recognized by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Doug is the President of Lakehead Geological Services Inc., a geological consulting company based in Vancouver, Canada, and provides a variety of exploration services to exploration and mining companies. Doug has been fortunate to have been part of mining teams responsible for the exploration and development of the Eskay Creek Gold Deposit in British Columbia, Canada, the Petaquilla Cu-Au Porphyry Deposit in Panama and the Mt. Kare Gold Deposit in Papua New Guinea. Currently Doug serves as a director on the boards of Oromin Explorations Ltd., Astur Gold Corporation and Grizzly Discoveries Inc. Mark VendrigMark Vendrig has 20 years of experience specialising in environmental management and sustainable development in mining projects. He has worked extensively in African countries including: South Africa, Ghana, Mauritania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal as well as in Europe, North America and the Middle East. His main focus is on taking projects from exploration into the operational phase and ensuring that both community development and progressive rehabilitation are implemented to result in a positive legacy of mining and minimal closure and rehabilitation requirements and has developed comprehensive rehabilitation strategies for three mines. Mark establishes close relationships with communities and regulators and works with them to maximise the development opportunities created by mining operations. Mark has worked on both new and operational mines to improve environmental performance and create opportunities for sustainable development. Mark has also worked in the nuclear energy and oil and gas industries. Corné FourieCorné Fourie is a geologist with an Honours degree in Geology and more than 15 years experience in production geology and resource estimation. Corné's experience includes underground production geology in South Africa, exploration work in Mali, due diligence work in Liberia and resource estimation of Pt (Bushveld), Au (Witwatersrand), Ni (Bushveld and Bostwana), Alluvial and Kimberlitic Diamonds (South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana), Tantalite (Zimbabwe), Pegmatite (Western Cape) and Uranium (Witwatersrand). Corné is currently developing a knowledge management based database of the whole Mozambican workforce. Ken KuchlingKen Kuchling is a mining engineer with over 30 years experience mainly encompassing open pit mining. He has worked in mining operations and in the consulting industry, with commodities such as gold, copper, potash, diamonds, oil sands, bauxite, tungsten, nickel, molybdenum, and industrial minerals. He has had direct involvement in scoping and feasibility studies, 43-101 Technical Reports, mine design, permitting, geotechnical engineering, tailings design, hydrogeology, and equipment selection. His equipment experience includes truck & shovel, dredging, large walking draglines, bucketwheel excavators & conveyor systems, and underground continuous mining systems. Ken has been involved in the evaluation of early stage and advanced stage opportunities on behalf of clients, including due diligence reviews, technical evaluation of data, site visits, preliminary financial modelling and "what-if" economic analyses. He has assisted clients in developing corporate strategies for studying, advancing, or selling projects. Globally his involvement includes projects in Canada, United States, Suriname, Russia, Korea, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Senegal, and Papua New Guinea, with experience ranging from Arctic to tropical conditions. Jim StewartMr. Stewart is a lawyer who has practised law in both private practice and as corporate counsel since 1984 and has extensive experience in the fields of mining, corporate finance and securities law. Mr. Stewart is currently a director of Bayswater Uranium Corporation, Lund Gold Ltd., Madison Minerals Inc., Oromin Explorations Ltd., Paget Minerals Corp. and Salmon River Resources Ltd.
